The territory

Tenuta Moriniello was born in Montaione , a small village in the heart of Tuscany surrounded by hills and woods, immersed in a naturalistic context of boundless beauty. This wonderful territory, always in balance between nature and the careful work of man, has allowed the creation of great wines, famous and appreciated throughout the world, since ancient times.

The soils of Tenuta Moriniello are mainly of sedimentary origin, composed of calcareous marly clays. Among the prevalent typologies we find the Chianti alberese, the sandstone, the clay, and schists such as the galestro .

Our vineyards, which extend over a surface of about 20 Ha, are characterized by steep slopes at an altitude between 280 and 450 meters above sea level. On average we find plants of 5,500 vines per hectare . The production per hectare is very limited, about 30 Hl , for a total production of a maximum of 550-600 Hl of wine.

The composition of the land, the variety and combination of different soils, factors such as altitude and exposure to the sun, combined with the climate of the region give balance in the alcoholic and phenolic components and longevity, intense and varied aromas and olfactory sensations contributing significantly to the uniqueness of our wines.

Organic Production

The company's mission has always been to translate passion , the full expression of the territory , and scrupulous attention in the cellar into excellent quality wines.

Our production is limited to 70,000 bottles per year, of which approximately 55,000 are dedicated to the production of Chianti . To enhance the characteristics and peculiarities of each slope, we have created 3 Crus , all obtained from international vines, dedicated to the production of three IGTs of which we carry out very limited productions of approximately 4,000 bottles per year.

We start from the belief that the quality of a wine cannot be separated from the work carried out in the vineyard, the continuous search for quality has always pushed us to pursue a type of agriculture that is sustainable and attentive to the environment and this is why we were one of the first companies in Italy to obtain organic certification.

All our production has been certified organic since 1999 , the harvest is done strictly by hand and is still experienced today as a moment of celebration to be celebrated. Our wines come from organic grapes of our production, an absolute guarantee of quality for our customers, on average we have 5,500 vines per hectare. The production per hectare is very limited, about 30 Hl, for a total of 550 Hl of wine.
